The Pike family has been producing authentic, handcrafted beverages in South Australia since 1886. Pikes Beer was first sold in 1886, followed by soft drinks and cordials from 1940. Pikes Wines ‘Polish Hill River Estate’ was established in 1985, and this is the year of their first vintage. 2022 marks the 38th vintage of the benchmark Traditionale Riesling.
Light to medium-bodied, restrained. Concentrated red fruits take most of the spotlight. Elegantly structured with fine-grained tannins coiled around a mouthwatering acid profile.
Refined yet powerful. Concentrated around a core of fresh kaffir lime and lemon drop lollies. Spear-like acidity and a slightly talcy texture are markers of the region and season. A very long finish. Stunning.
Crisp acid-driven wine, plenty of fresh lime and other citrus flavors. More delicate than recent years, the balance of palate weight, acid, and barely-there sweetness creates a seamless and lengthy finish.
